Fitness model, sponsored athlete, and lifestyle coach Nikki Walter-Nemickas has a strong passion for health and wellness. Walter-Nemickas is a motivational speaker who travels the country with her daughter, Addison, to help change people’s lives through workshops, online education efforts, and their company, F…It Companies LLC. (Family, faith, fitness, food, friends and fun; all of the F’s rolled into one).
Growing up in a small town in South Dakota, Walter-Nemickas first started her journey of healthy living when she discovered her love for running during junior high school. During this time, she learned the importance of strength and conditioning; she knew her goal one day was to compete in and win fitness competitions.
But Walter-Nemickas’ life has not been short of hardships. The first came at the end of her junior year in 1997 when her father tragically lost his life in a car accident. Walter-Nemickas decided to pursue a degree at a state college and delay her goal to be in the Airforce to stay close to her two younger sisters and mother.
She later pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business & Health Management at Northern State University. During that time, Walter-Nemickas started teaching group fitness classes and co-founded The Northern Highlights Dance team. After graduating, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to work for Medtronic Wellness Centers, but declined a job offer to get married back in South Dakota. Her second major hardship was the loss of her 35-year-old husband to leukemia, when their daughter was just five years old.
Following the loss of her husband, and after years of working for the Chamber of Commerce, Walter-Nemickas finally decided to pursue her goals and compete in fitness competitions. Since then, she has become a six-time NPC first place finisher and competed at the Mr. Olympia in the Flex Bikini Model Search, has qualified to compete for the NPC Masters Nationals in 2018.
Walter-Nemickas was selected as one of the top 10 finalists in the U.S. for bodybuilding.com spokesmodel in 2014, earning her a photoshoot with Ironman Magazine and a spot on the International TEAM bodybuilding.com. She has appeared at The Arnold Classic and Mr. Olympia as a spokesmodel for bodybuilding.com. In 2015, she was featured on the site as Bodyspace Member of the Month and in 2019 modeled new products for gofit.net.
Walter-Nemickas’ passion and knowledge has been recognized with her being featured in publications including Oxygen Magazine, TRAIN For Her Magazine, FHM Magazine, Natural Muscle Magazine, The Today Show, Talking Live with Dr. Robi Ludwig Times Square, and the What Women Want with Judy Goss Radio Talk Show. Walter-Nemickas is also a health and wellness columnist who has been featured bodybuilding.com, popsugar.com, apartmenttherapy.com, active.com, sheknows.com, bestlife.com, thriveglobal.com, more.com, adaptive.com theinsider.com and the dailymail.co.uk, to name a few.
Her daughter Addison is also very much involved in the health and wellness lifestyle. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Addison has her own mission: To inform others to eat healthy and help fight childhood obesity. Addison wants to educate kids as well as parents on living a healthy lifestyle with her “Kids Kitchen with Addie” clips on Instagram and YouTube. Now that Addison is in high school, she still works with her mom on passion projects and also works with kids. Besides traveling to speak at events, educate people in healthy living, the mother-daughter duo has started a health movement called #ruralfit. #ruralfit is also an opportunity to raise money for a family or community project in need.
