After a successful opening in summer 2016, Union Cantina has quickly become the highlight of Southampton’s social and culinary scene. The modern Mexican eatery, designed by Southampton Social Club owners Ian Duke and David Hilty, sits in the iconic Bowden Square and is open all year-round. Working alongside award winning Executive Chef Scott Kampf, who has been featured on Food Network’s Iron Chefs of America, the trio continues to bring innovative Mexican cuisines to Southampton throughout the year.
Union Cantina’s winning Everyday Happy Hour concept (daily from 4:00pm to 7:00pm) continues to draw locals and visitors alike. Monday is Football Night, featuring special prices on beer and BOGO margaritas. On Taco Tuesdays, diners can enjoy half price tacos all night long, and on Wine Down Wednesdays the restaurant offers 1/2 off on wine and sangria. Thursday is Ladies Night, which means complimentary margaritas and specialty cocktails for all ladies between 8:00pm and 9:30pm as well as special prices for the guys on beers, pitchers and buckets. The weekend kicks off with Live Music Fridays and Cazadores Tequila specials all night, and continues with Saturday DJ Night followed by Union Sunday Night, featuring 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour.
This Mexican hotspot serves lunch and dinner, as well as a bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Guests craving Mexican with a spin will enjoy the Mexican Pizza topped with black beans, heirloom tomatoes, black olives layered over a Mexican cheese blend, sour cream and pico de gallo. From the Taco menu, the Langosta with fresh lobster, pico de gallo, fresh avocado and lime poblano cream is a customer favorite. The Truffle Queso is offered on the Quesadilla menu including sliced black truffles in a decadent six-cheese blend. The Deconstructed Enchilada is a Union Cantina specialty worth every bite. There is a variation suited for all appetites including the Marinated Aracherras (skirt steak), the Robalo Rayados (striped bass), the Picante Camrones (spicy shrimp), the Pollo Tirada (pulled chicken) and Vegetales (vegetables). For dessert, diners can indulge in Churros with Nutella dipping cream or the toasted coconut Tres Leches Cake.
The restaurant sits behind the 400 Rabbits Tequila Bar, which is reminiscent of a prohibition-era speakeasy. Head bartender Kyle Smith mixes fun favorites for diners that perfectly complement any meal. The tequila bar carries more than 100 types of tequila producing a unique signature cocktail program and an extensive tequila menu consisting of sangrias, punches and frozen drinks. Popular cocktails include: The Classic Margarita blending Cabo Wabo Reposado Tequila; Frozen Margarita with fruit flavors such as mango, strawberry, passion fruit, blood orange and prickly pear; the Warren cocktail which blends 1942 Don Julio, grand marnier, centenario tequila with fresh lime juice; and the 65 Mustang cocktail, which is a bold combination of Bullet Bourbon, pressed cider, fresh lime plus bitters and mints.
Union Cantina’s festive atmosphere incorporates both the sleekness of the Hampton’s high society with the rustic beauty of Mexican culture. The dark woods are balanced by the bright cerulean colored walls, and are also decorated with Mexican artwork. Union Cantina is the hotspot all year-round for festive dining, live music and A-list celebrations! Stop by the restaurant to pick up your Union Cantina Loyalty Card, offering patrons 15% off food purchases all year-round.
