Resident Magazine’s Publisher Michael Travin, Associate Publisher Melissa Kassis and Editor-In-Chief Hillary Latos hosted a Summer 2016 Cover Star Party at Southampton’s new Japanese fusion restaurant Kozu on Saturday, July 9th, 2016.
Resident Magazine offered its readers engaging profiles about people of influence, fashion, art and trends in Manhattan and the Hamptons. The cocktail party celebrated the July 2016 cover stars Ramona Singer and Dr. Christopher Calapai. The event featured wines from Lila Wines, sparkling wine from Rotari Trentodoc and cocktails from 50 Bleu Ultra Premium Vodka.

Guests had the opportunity to mingle restauranteur Zach Erdem’s new restaurant, Kozu, while tasting delectabe hors d’oeuvres from the Japanese-Peruvian inspired kitchen. Kozu boasts Head Chef John Keller, Sous Chef George Nikolopolous, and Sushi Chef Joseph Kim. Signature dishes includes the Kozu Jalapeño Yellowtail with Smoked Tomato Ponzu and the Summer Corn and Lobster Salad with a Corn “Pudding”, Shiso, and Yuzu Dressing.

Kozu is a Japanese Fusion restaurant run by restauranteur and 75 Main & AM Southampton owner Zach Erdem. The restaurant offers Japanese cuisine and sushi with Peruvian influences. The menu, designed by Head Chef John Keller, features signature dishes such as the Kozu Jalapeño Yellowtail with Smoked Tomato Ponzu; the Summer Corn and Lobster Salad with a Corn “Pudding”, Shiso, and Yuzu Dressing; and the Heirloom Tomatoes and Japanese Cucumber with Toasted Sesame Dressing, Yuzu Salt, Micro Cilantro and Piment d’Espelette. The kitchen also proudly hosts Sous Chef George Nikolopolous, formerly of Le Bernardin, and Sushi Chef Joseph Kim, formerly of Morimoto.
The décor invites diners to an intimate and elegant atmosphere, featuring dark wooden floors and white walls covered in colorful artwork by Jerome Lucani. Fresh flowers add a sense of luxury to the restaurant, as do the scorched ash tables in conjunction with rich hues and soft lighting. The indoor space holds 100 diners. The large outside patio, which seats 150 people, offers additional dining space “al fresco”.
