The New York City Private School admissions process can be daunting and at times overwhelming even for the most high-achieving New York parents seeking the best educational start for their child.

Education experts Jennifer Brozost and Vimmi Shroff of Private Education Advisory Service (PEAS), have experienced both ends of the private school admissions process both as admissions officers at top New York City private schools and as parents of children within the private school system. They have decided to compile their experiences into the second edition of their guidebook The NYC Private School Admissions Handbook.

In this book they share their hard-earned expert advice on how to navigate this often stressful process. From helpful timelines to helping families fill out applications and write essays to finally identifying the right and best schools for your child, PEAS have you and your child’s first steps in education covered in this essential new book.

Today top private schools in New York City can receive hundreds of applications, so the competition can seem as fierce as the Ivy League Colleges. It’s critical for parents to know which schools to pick, when to start applying, who to ask for recommendation letters, what to say in interviews, and all the hidden tricks. Each chapter takes the parent through each of the various phases of private school admissions from nursery school up to high school, detailing the needs of applicants along the way. They offer their advice for everything from when to start researching schools, to building relationships with school officials to inevitably how to figure how which schools would be the best fit for your child.

As qualified teachers, they have taught in classrooms and have over 15 years of private school experience and knowledge. Vimmi grew up in India where she completed her Undergraduate degree in Business and Economics, and they both completed their Masters Degrees in Education.
