“Innocence” the movie will premiere at the Hamptons’ Drive-In at Cooper’s Beach in Southampton, NY, on Saturday August 16th, 2014.
The film, starring Kelly Reilly and Sophie Curtis, co-produced by Jane Mendelsohn and Pam Koffler, and directed by Hilary Brougher, is a chilling allegory of the precarious state of an American teenager. It explores themes of loss, the human condition and a society torn between purity and narcissism.
“Innocence” portrays 16-year-old Beckett Warner, played by Sophie Curtis (“Arbitrage,” “At Any Price,” “The English Teacher”), who is haunted by dreams of her beloved mother who has died in a Montauk surfing accident. Beckett and her father, novelist Miles Warner, played by Linus Roche (“Batman Begins,” “Law & Order”), move to Manhattan and attempt to piece together their shattered life.
Once Beckett is enrolled at an exclusive Hamilton preparatory school, her psychosis and hallucinations intensify with the dubious suicides of current and past students as does her first love for Tobey Crawford, played by Graham Phillips (“Evan Almighty,” “The Good Wife”). The discovery that her new school may be run by a coven of beautiful and seductive women, including Pamela Hamilton, played by Kelly Reilly (“Heaven Is For Real,” “Flight,” “Sherlock Holmes,” “The Black Box”), who perpetuate their youth by drinking the blood of virgins becomes the ultimate challenge of Beckett and Tobey’s young lives.
Innocence also stars Kelly Bensimon (former Real Housewife of New York City), Perrey Reeves (“Entourage”, “Old School”), Stephanie March (“Law and Order”, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith), and Liya Kibede (“The Best Offer”, “Desert Flower”).
Innocence opens in theatres and IMAX on Friday, 29 August, 2014.
