More than 2500 Hamptonites gathered on Saturday July 12 and Sunday July 13, 2014 for Dan’s Taste of Summer, the highly anticipated foodie weekend, which included both GrillHampton – an epic battle of 8 NYC chefs and 8 Hampton chefs – and the fourth annual Taste of Two Forks.
Food Network icon and British charmer Robert Irvine flexed his culinary muscles as the host of GrillHampton, which saw the balance tip in favor of Team NYC. The Judges Choice award went to Gabe Thompson of the Epicurean Group, who made grilled lamb sausage.
Hampton’s team member David Hersh of Rumba Rum Bar won the People’s Choice award for the second-year running for his epic Dominican Ribs.
As the sun set on Saturday night, Hamptonites descended upon Taste of Two Forks, which sees the best of the East End’s bounty from top restaurants like 75 Main, Fresh Hamptons and so many more,
Food Network’s “The Kitchen” co-hosts Katie Lee and Geoffrey Zakarian presided over the evening which features bites from 40 North and South Fork restaurants, sips from more than a dozen local wineries and more.
The weekend benefited the charity All for the East End, raising $10,000, and was another smash success for the East End’s culinary scene!
