Jackie Rogers Brings a Taste of Haute Couture to the Hamptons

Jackie Rogers

Jackie Rogers, the well-known fashion designer who over the years has stayed relevant with her chic, innovative designs, is bringing her bold style to the Hamptons for the first time this summer 2015. Located on the ultra-exclusive Jobs Lane, Jackie Rogers is able to offer styling to her a-list clientele while they are visiting their vacation homes in the South Fork.

Within the store, her signature dresses, blazers and jumpsuits line the racks which cover the perimeter of her boutique, each of which are color coordinated and paired with the different materials she utilizes. She frequently makes gorgeous designs with silk satin-faced organza, which is notoriously difficult to work with, to create beautifully tiered ball gowns and jumpsuits. In honor of her Hamptons location, she has a rack of clothing entirely dedicated to her Gin Lane Collection. The collection fuses the luxurious flare of her elegant designs with the humble seersucker fabric that when combined together make beautiful blazers and dresses.

On the walls are large photographs of Jackie from her various adventures throughout her illustrious life. From gallivanting across Europe with royalty to movie stills from her role Fellini’s 1963 classic movie 8 ½ to her shots in a serpent hat designed by Bill Blass, Jackie Rogers can indulge you on all the details of the various escapades depicted in these photographs. Though the Hamptons season reaches its unofficial end on Labor Day, Jackie Rogers will continue to fit her elite clientele in her signature pieces.

Jackie Rogers’ couture collections have been dressing the world’s most powerful men & women for decades. She began her fashion design career working in menswear at the advisement of her mentor, Fashion Legend Coco Chanel, with her own boutique on Madison Avenue. The store became a men’s club, with movie star Jack Nicholson and Philanthropist Winthrop Rockefeller amongst her clientele. In the 1970s, she began designing womenswear and launched her boutique in Palm Beach, Florida on Worth Avenue.

Along with her Southampton and Palm Beach boutiques, her designs are available by appointment at her Manhattan showroom, online on her website and at fine retailers everywhere.

The MOMS Host A MAMARAZZI® Event With Actor Rick Springfield to celebrate his new film Ricki and the Flash

Capture

THE MOMS, Denise Albert hosted a Mamarazzi® Event with Actor Rick Springfield this Monday, August 3rd, 2015 at The Sony Screening Room. The event brought together influential moms and media for a special advanced screening of Rick’s new movie, Ricki and the Flash, which stars Oscar Winner Meryl Streep as rock star Ricki Rendazzo who is returning home from following her dream of being a rock star and is seeking redemption from the family she left behind. In the film, Rick plays a member of her band The Flash, who is in love with her.

Immediately following the screening, Rick Springfield participated in an audience Q & A moderated by The MOMS’ Denise Albert where he discussed the film, his life and his career. Like his character Greg in the movie Ricki and the Flash, Rick Springfield has also pursued a successful career as a guitarist and musician and for him the role was, “a lot of fun because I love to play the guitar.” However, unlike his character in the movie, who struggles to make ends meet and has multiple jobs, his success gave him a lot of freedom when it came to raising a family.

“I remember when my kids were born I actually got to the point where I could just pull the plug on my career and I spent five years helping raise my kids,” he said adding, “I became kind of a house husband, which has paid off because I have a great relationship with my boys.”

About The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center Of The Hamptons:

The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the rehabilitation of wild animals impacted by encroachment of humans on their habitat. It is a grass roots organization that grew from a few concerned friends to a group of over 1000 members and supporters. The center is a full-time professional wildlife hospital staffed by licensed rehabilitators, biologists, animal behaviorists and volunteers. Over 100 people have been trained to assist in wildlife rescues. The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center is located on Munn’s Pond Park through a cooperative licensing agreement with Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The center is situated on a greenbelt of public land parcels totaling several thousand acres and stretches from Tiana Bay to Peconic Bay located on the eastern end of Long Island, NY. This is a unique and irreplaceable ecosystem consisting of salt and fresh water wetlands, Pine Barrens, deciduous forest and meadowland. It is the perfect setting for a wildlife rehabilitation center. The hospital is designed exclusively for wild animals. Unlike a veterinary hospital, there are no ambient noises or smells to stress the wildlife that are recovering within. The Wildlife Rescue Center receives over 10,000 calls each year for information or assistance with wild animal encounters. We also provide educational programs to local elementary and secondary schools. Students from local colleges participate in cooperative education programs and internships. The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center annual operating budget exceeds $350,000, almost all of which comes from the generosity of people like you. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

About the New York Center For Children

Founded in 1995 by the 55-year-old national child abuse-prevention organization, Childhelp, with the aid of the late Broadway producer Marty Richards and philanthropist Georgette Mosbacher, the New York Center for Children (NYCC) is a child-friendly Center, providing free, comprehensive evaluation and therapy services to victims of child abuse and their families. NYCC also offers professional training on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of child abuse. All of the programs and services at NYCC are completely free of charge. NYCC is a not-for-profit organization that relies on donations to cover the costs of operations. NYCC serves all families, including those without insurance. When children come to the Center, they are greeted by specially trained staff, colorful murals on the walls and a playroom filled with toys. In addition to evaluation and treatment, the children at NYCC also benefit from tutoring, mentoring and extracurricular events. NYCC serves children from all five boroughs of New York City. The child-friendly space is located at 333 East 70th Street, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side — an easily-accessible and safe neighborhood for our children to be nurtured back to health.

Salma Hayek and the MOMS Host MAMARAZZI® Screening for ‘The Prophet’

SiriusXM’s THE MOMS Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein together with Funoogles and Plaque HD hosted a Mamarazzi® Event with Actress Salma Hayek on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 at Dolby 88. The event brought together influential moms and media for a special advance screening of Salma’s new film, The Prophet.

Before the screening, guests gathered outside the theater for interactive displays with event co-hosts Funoogles and Plaque HD. Funoogles is a new, customizable kid’s glasses line which launched April 2015, which allows for children to switch the color of the frames based on what they are wearing or their mood. Founder Jessica Darcy founded the company after seeing her daughter Ella-Jane, who has a congenital cataract which almost claimed her vision, yearn for glasses where she could express her personality and change the color of the frames each day. Plaque HD is a revolutionary, new toothpaste that reveals plaque so that you can remove it with directed brushing and flossing. Utilizing a natural, plant-based Targetol Technology, the toothpaste identifies plaque by leaving behind a light green film, which is removed with further brushing. Also available to guests were delicious bites from Treathouse and platters from Fromaggio Cheese while they sipped on boxed water provided by Just Water.

Immediately following the screening, Salma Hayek sat down for a Q & A with The MOMS Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein where she discussed her new movie The Prophet, which is based on the volumes of poetry written by Lebanese-American author Kahlil Gibran. The project, which she also produced and spearheaded said that its coming release is akin to “being pregnant for four and a half years and finally giving birth.”

For her it is a passion project as the book as it connected her with her Lebanese Grandfather and this passion for The Prophet goes beyond her personal connection to it, she hopes to inspire children to change the world.

“We are all consumers and follow what other people dictate to us,” she said adding, “We are programmed to think either this or that. We need new people to think outside of the box.”

Thinking outside of the box is a lesson she imparts onto her daughter and said that she always tells her that she can be the best person you can be when you go outside of your comfort zone.

“When you push yourself to be the best person you can be, you can discover your superpowers,” she said.

ABOUT THE PROPHET: www.gibransprophetmovie.com

The Prophet, by celebrated Lebanese-American author Kahlil Gibran, is among the most popular volumes of poetry ever written, selling over 100 million copies in forty languages since its publication in 1923. Gibran’s timeless verses have been given enchanting new form in this painterly cinematic adventure about freedom and the power of human expression. This breathtaking animated feature, produced and spearheaded by Salma Hayek, was an official selection at Cannes and made its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Written and directed by Roger Allers (The Lion King), the film intersperses Gibran’s elegant poetry within stunning animated sequences by filmmakers Tomm Moore (The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea), Bill Plympton (Guide Dog), Joan Gratz (Mona Lisa Descending a Staircase), Nina Paley (Sita Sings the Blues), and a host of award-winning animators from around the world. Set in a Mediterranean seaside village, Kamila (Salma Hayek) cleans house for exiled artist and poet Mustafa (Liam Neeson), but the more difficult job is keeping her free-spirited young daughter, Almitra (Quvenzhané Wallis), out of trouble. The three embark on a journey meant to end with Mustafa’s return home – but first they must evade the authorities who fear that the truth in his words will incite rebellion. Featuring music from Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Gabriel Yared, and Yo-Yo Ma.
